Ok, I'm at Skagway - what do I do now?
The town is quite a walk from where the ships dock. I suppose there were forms of transport - but we all just strolled into town (as I suppose the miners did in 1898). I bought a book about the history. I am wearing my coat in this photo - so it must have been cool - but this May/June weather was usually quite warm.

Hoonah local. I did not actually get to meet this gentleman, as we had to take the boat back to the ship. I really enjoyed the stories that our tour guide (local teacher on Summer holiday) and bus driver (local woman with 5 daughters)told us. I particularly found the Raven/Eagle clan stories fascinating.
